A fascinating and possibly unanticipated result of the growth in social media marketing is the increased demand for skilled writers. To entice and keep readers, blogs, drip marketing electronic newsletters, and other "new media", require good writing skills.

The components of good writing are easy to understand such as spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization. Your writing can be made more enjoyable and understandable to your readers by understanding the rules and conventions.

Grammar

Grammar is the art of explaining the structure and the forms of words (called Morphology) and how they are arranged in sentences (called Syntax). In other words, grammar gives the rules for common use of written and spoken language so we can better understand each other.

These eight parts are the building blocks of grammar:

Verbs are used to convey actions, events, and the state of being.

Nouns are used to define an animal or a person, a place, thing concept or abstract idea.

Pronouns can be used in lieu of pronouns.

Adjectives modify pronouns or nouns by describing, identifying, or quantifying them. A verb usually precedes the noun or pronoun that it alters.

Adverbs can modify a verb adjective, another adverb , an expression or clause. They indicate the manner, time and place of events, in addition to the causes and effects. Because they answer the question which (when when, where or what) they are simple to recognize. Adverbs usually end with the word ly.

Prepositions connect pronouns, nouns, and phrases to other words in a sentence . They typically indicate a connection to time space, logic, or space.

Conjunctions connect words or phrases.

Interjections can be incorporated into sentences to express emotion. They are usually followed by an exclamation point.

A sentence is comprised of two components. The subject is the person or thing the sentence is about and the predicate is the thing the subject is doing. The predicate could be a verb or a noun. Find the verb and you can ask what to identify the subject. The subject is the answer.

Modifiers phrases, clauses, and clauses offer information on the predicate or subject, making the writing more engaging. A single word acting as an adjective or an adverb is referred to as a modifier. the combination of two or more words with a subject and predicate and acting as an adjective or an adverb is referred to as a phrase and two or more words acting as an adjective or adverb with a subject and predicate is a clause.

Whether single words, phrases, or clauses, modifiers should appear close to the word or words they modify, especially when the reader is able to misinterpret the modifier for what it is that they modify. Wordssite.com gives clear details about Positive words.

Spelling

The existence of spell-checkers in word processing applications significantly reduces the chance of spelling errors - except for homophones. Homonyms are words that sound similar, but are pronounced differently and carry a different meaning.

Punctuation

Punctuation can help convey the exact significance of a phrase - and it can actually alter the meaning, as in this well-known example:

A woman without her man, is nothing.

Man is incomplete without a woman.

Here's a brief explanation of how punctuation is used:

A comma allows the reader to pause and assimilate information. They can also be used to differentiate the elements in the same series.

When two independent clauses cannot be joined by a conjunction, a semi-colon connects the two clauses.

A colon introduces either a list or a summary. It can also be used to connect concepts that were introduced in separate clauses.

End punctuation (period or question mark exclamation mark) is used to indicate the end of an entire sentence.

Parentheses enclose words that are not directly connected to the primary concept of the sentence but are important to provide information or provide examples.

Dashes signal a sudden change of thought or breaks in an entire sentence. Dashes can also be used to emphasise information instead of parentheses.

Quotation marks signify the direct use of speech. All punctuation marks are enclosed within the quotation marks except for colons, semi-colons and question marks, if they are not part of the quotation.

Capitalization

Like punctuation, capitalization can help convey information. Capitalizing the first word of every sentence signifies that an entirely new sentence is being written. Proper nouns, which are the names given to specific people or places, or even things that are capitalized, signify the uniqueness of each. It is wrong to use capitalization to make words sound or appear important.

Grammar The Importance

Grammar is crucial as it aids readers in understanding the content. It is the format that conveys the exact intention of the writer the reader. Clear communication will reward you readers and help you eliminate grammatical errors.
